Itinerary

DAY 1: YOGYAKARTA ARRIVAL  

[ L ]

Arrive at the Solo Airport where your guide and private car await to will transfer you to your hotel in Jogjakarta for check-in. Freshen up before lunch at a local restaurant before setting off to a traditional batik factory, where you will learn about the ancient techniques applied to the indigenous cloth before making your own. Enjoy dinner at leisure in the hotel. Overnight in Jogjakarta.

DAY 2: YOGYAKARTA – BOROBUDUR – CANDIREJO – YOGYAKARTA

Rise early for a half-day city tour beginning with a visit to the Sultans Palace followed by the Water Palace, Taman Sari. Take a local cyclo, through the streets to the bird market. Have lunch in a local restaurant. This afternoon drive to Borobudur and then onto the Mendut temple. Get a taste for local life with a horse cart ride through Candirejo village. Return to Jogjakarta arriving early this evening. This evening, enjoy a performance of traditional Ramayana Dances while dining at a local restaurant. Overnight in Jogjakarta.

DAY 3: YOGYAKARTA – PRAMBANAN – SUKUH AND CETHO TEMPLES – SOLO

After breakfast, drive from Jogjakarta to the ancient Hindu temples at Prambanan. Your guide will explain the history and symbolism of the temples as you walk around. Continue with a drive to Solo where you will visit Mangkunegaran Palace, a classical repository of classical Javanese art. For lunch today, you’ll be treated to a traditional Javanese restaurant, often accompanied by live gamelan music. This afternoon continue driving east to Sukuh temple before visiting Cetho temple. Return to Solo late this afternoon. Dinner is at your leisure. Overnight in Solo.

DAY 4: SOLO – SURABAYA – MOUNT BROMO

After breakfast, you will board the train to Surabaya. Your guide will accompany on the journey.Upon arrival, your local driver will be there to greet you before you stop for lunch.This afternoon take a 3.5/4 hour drive to the village of Wonotoro.Check-in to your hotel and freshen up. Dinner is at your leisure this evening. Overnight in Wonotoro.

DAY 5: MOUNT BROMO – KALIBARU  

[ B , L , D ]

Awake early this morning for a sunrise tour of Mt Bromo. Continue by jeep down to the volcano caldera. Embark on a 20-minute ride on horseback to the rim of the still-active Bromo crater. Return by horse and jeep to your hotel in Wonotoro for breakfast. Check out and continue by road to Jember via Probolingo. Arrive at Kalibaru, early this evening. After freshening up, dinner will be served this evening at the hotel. Overnight in Kalibaru.

DAY 6: KALIBARU – IJEN  

[ B , L ]

This morning complete a tour of Kalibaru, finish the morning’s tour with a coffee tasting session. Return to Margo Utomo hotel for lunch.This afternoon, proceed to Ijen Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Relax poolside or on the balcony of your room. Dinner at leisure. Overnight in Ijen.

DAY 7: IJEN – BALI – LOVINA

Awake early this morning for breakfast before an excursion to Mt Ijen. Reach the Paltuding base camp where you will embark on a 3 k trek. Return via the same route before having a ‘local style’ lunch and boarding the ferry to Bali, Upon reaching Bali, you will continue by road along the North Coast to Lovina Beach. Overnight in Lovina.

DAY 8: LOVINA – LAKE BRATAN – TANAH LOT – UBUD  

[ B ]

Morning at leisure on the beach in Lovina to relax. Alternatively, the following optional activity is available: Sudaji Waterfall Trek- This two hour trek takes you through the picturesque village of Sudaji. You’ll pass by plantations growing coffee, cloves, coconuts and tropical fruit and reach the Semkumpul Waterfall which is 50 meters high. Several other smaller falls are also in the area. Lunch at leisure in Lovina.This afternoon drive to Lake Bratan where you will stop for a visit to the very scenic Ulun Danu Temple. This afternoon you will then drive to the south Western coast of Bali to visit Tanah Lot Temple, where you will enjoy the dramatic sunset Transfer to Ubud and check in at your hotel. Dinner is at leisure this evening. Overnight in Ubud.

DAY 9: UBUD  

[ B , L , D ]

Start today with an early morning walk through the rice fields near Ubud before returning to your hotel for breakfast. Spend this morning discovering the cultural heart of Bali, Ubud. Finish this morning’s excursion with a walk in Ubud Market. Lunch will be served at Indus Restaurant.Relax this afternoon with a 1 hour and half Balinese massage treatment at a local spa. This evening you will be treated to a performance in a nearby village. Return to Ubud for dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in Ubud.

DAY 10: UBUD – LAKE BATUR – BESAKIH – CANDIDASA  

[ B , L ]

Depart Ubud for a full day excursion to Mt Batur. Along the way you will stop in Sebatu village to visit Pura Gunung Kawi. Upon arrival at Kintamani, stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Your excursion continues along small, scenic roads to Besakih: visit Besakih, known as the ‘Mother Temple’ of Bali. Located on the western slopes of Mt Agung, Bali highest volcano (2 567 m), Besakih is the largest and most important temple on the island. Arriving in Candidasa, you’ll check in at your beachside hotel and enjoy the remainder of today at leisure. Dinner at leisure.

DAY 11: CANDIDASA – PADANG BAI – GILI TRAWANGAN  

[ B , L ]

Check out from the hotel in Candidasa and take a short drive to the nearby harbor of Padang Bai. Board the Gili Cat speed boat departing at 09.00 to the Gili Islands. The boat will make a short stop at Teluk Kode Harbour (Lombok) before continuing to Gili Trawangan, arriving at 10.30. This small island off the Northwest coast of Lombok is part of the ‘Gili Islands’, a trio of 3 small sandy islands surrounded by coral reefs. Upon arrival at the harbor, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred by cidomos (horse-drawn carts) to your hotel. Note: There are no cars or motorbikes on the Gili islands. Transport is provided by cidomos and bicycles so the island retains a peaceful, quiet atmosphere. This afternoon and evening are at leisure to relax on the beach or take a bike ride around the island. Overnight on Gili Trawangan Island.

DAY 12: GILI TRAWANGAN  

[ B ]

Today there are no planned activities, so you can relax and enjoy or take an excursion. Options include snorkelling trips, touring of the other islands, scuba diving or a glass-bottom boat excursion. The waters around the Gilis are teaming with coral, a multitude of tropical fish, sea turtles and other marine life. Overnight on Gili Trawangan island.

DAY 13: GILI TRAWANGAN – MATARAM DEPARTURE  

[ B ]

This morning enjoy a leisurely breakfast and time on the beach before a mid-day departure. Take a local motorized outrigger boat this afternoon to Lombok where you will continue by car to Selaparang airport in Mataram for your late afternoon onward flight.
Alternatively, as an optional activity, full day excursion Sasak Villages and South Lombok (Lunch not included). This morning, check out from your hotel in Gili Trawangan and transfer to the main island of Lombok by local motorized outrigger boat. Meet your local guide and driver and proceed to Southern part of the island where you will spend the day learning about the traditions and customs of the Sasak people, Lombok’s main inhabitants. First visit Pondok Prasi fishing village and a nearby village known for its clay pottery. Continue to Sukarara village where you will see traditional hand weaving of brightly patterned local cloths. Next, Sade and Rambitan villages are home to some of the best examples of traditional Sasak lodges with thatched roofs and buffalo dung floors. While exploring these villages you will have a chance to meet the locals and gain insight into their lifestyles. Continue to the beaches of Kuta and Tanjung A’an, scenic and unspoiled beaches on the south coast. The blue water is ideal for swimming or you can simply relax on the white sands. Transfer to Selaparang airport in Mataram for your late afternoon flight.
