From your hotel, drive along the Crocker Range to the Kinabalu National Park, Malaysia’s first World Heritage site. The Kinabalu National Park covers an area of 754sq km and is dubbed as a botanical paradise. Home to half of the world’s flowering plants species, it is also famed for the majestic Mt. Kinabalu (4,095mt), the highest mountain in Southeast Asia. On arrival at the park, proceed for a guided walk along the nature trails with a park naturalist or just relax and enjoy the cool weather at the park. Visit the Mountain Garden to learn more about the flowering plants found at the national park. You may also choose to visit the exhibition centre or just step into a natural wonderland by following any of the numerous trails around park, each filled with discovery. There are more than 1000 species of flora found at Kinabalu Park. Dinner and overnight at the Kinabalu Park.
On the second day, after an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarter for registration and meet up with your mountain guide at the reception. After the briefing, commence your journey to Timpohon Gate, where you will start your trek to Laban Rata, that takes approximately 4-5 hours depending on individual fitness levels. Have your packed lunch on the way. The trekking will take you through different vegetation zones from oak and chestnut to mossy forest and eventually to alpine type of vegetation, before arriving at Laban Rata Resthouse (3,353m). Check-in at Laban Rata Resthouse (heated – dormitory room) or Gunting Lagadan (not heated), depending on the availability, and spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure to explore the surroundings or simply soak in the scenery spread beneath you. Dinner and overnight at Laban Rata Resthouse or Gunting Lagadan.
At 2am, wake up and continue ascending to the summit of Mount Kinabalu. Upon reaching the summit, have the opportunity to witness the beautiful sunrise and to take photos at the peak of the mountain. Climb down to Laban Rata for breakfast before descending down to Timpohon gate or Mesilau, where transport will take you the park headquarters for lunch. Transfer to your beach resort on Dalit Beach near Tuaran.

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Sandakan (not included in the price). On arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Sandakan.
Pick-up from your hotel in Sandakan and transfers for approximately 30 minutes to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. Proceed to the free roaming area and feeding platform to witness feeding time at 10am. Observe as man’s closest relative, the Orang Utan, is rehabilitated to the wild of its natural habitat. Also, experience a walk in the tropical lowland dipterocarp forest of Borneo. Depart Sepilok and transfer to the jetty in Sandakan. Take an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary, where you will take your lunch. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan town through a magnificent scenery of the mangrove forest. After lunch, cruise up river to Sukau village in search of primates, especially the endemic Proboscis Monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Arrive in Sukau and check in at the lodge. In the late afternoon, option to take another river cruise to the Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge.
On the second day, wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. Early in the morning, take a river trip to the Ox-Bow Lake to observe wildlife and experience the early morning river ambience of the longest river in Sabah. Return to the lodge for breakfast and then free time at leisure. After lunch, proceed 27km overland to Gomantong Caves. Trek 20 minutes through the rainforest to the cave entrance. Your guide will brief you on the cave faunas including bats, swiftlets and crabs among others and their contribution to maintaining a balanced ecology and significance to the local economy. When in season, witness the collecting of birds' nests by the local people using bamboo ladders and poles. Return back to the lodge for a late afternoon river cruiseto search for more wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge.
In the early morning, transfer overland to Lahad Datu. From there drive 83km through selectively logged forest, cocoa and soft-wood plantations before arriving at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge beside Danum River on the edge of 438 sq. km of undisturbed lowland rainforest. The lodge is home to the full range of Sabah's lowland fauna, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Elephants, Clouded Leopards and Orang Utans. So far some 275 species of birds have been recorded in the area. Explore nature trail and nearby river. In the evening a slide show and if weather permits one can go spotlighting to view some of the nocturnal animals. Overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
On the second day, early morning birdwalk before breakfast. Spend the whole day exploring the forest for birds and mammals, leading up to an escarpment with ancient burial coffins. Trek to waterfall and dip in refreshing rock pools. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, jungle walk through trails leading to canopy walkway. Overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
Morning Trek in search of mammals and birds. Return to the lodge before departing in the morning for Lahad Datu. From there transfer to the Semporna pier, arriving before the resort boat leaves at 1pm. Rest of the day free at leisure on your resort on stilts. Overnight on the Sipadan-Kapalai Diving Resort.
A few minutes by boat from Sipadan but a full world away from it lies the Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort, sitting on its sturdy stilts on shallow sandbanks of the Ligitan Reefs. Planned and built in full style as an airy, comfortable, sunny water village with no land in sight, but boasting a mile-long sandbank of powdery blindingly white sand where one can suntan at complete leisure, the resort offers great food, surprisingly roomy and elegant wooden chalets with huge private balconies and attached bathrooms and a couple of miles of walkways for those who like to take their morning jog while looking at thousands of fish just a few inches beneath their feet.
Meals are served in the terraced, open central structure, while a big western sundeck allow divers to have an evening drink or an after-dive chat with a background of fabulous tropical sunsets.Diving around is exceedingly easy and shallow but quite spectacular: the sandy bottom and the sparse coral heads host an amazing array of small, after yet-to-be-classified, shamelessly colorful subjects, making the diving here an unforgettable experience for any discerning photographer. The resort offers three dives a day plus, if requested, day trips to Sipadan (subject to approval of entry permit) and Mabul. Overnight on the Sipadan-Kapalai Diving Resort.
